Computing
At Coppice we want all children to be computer literate and have a sense of enjoyment around using technology. We aim to develop pupil’s appreciation of its capabilities and the opportunities technology offers to create, manage, organise, and collaborate.
We aim for all children to be digitally competent and have a range of transferrable skills for the future and be responsible online citizens. Through computer science, digital literacy and IT we want all children to be ready for life in the digital world.
Kapow Primary Curriculum will enable all children to meet the needs of key stage attainment targets outlined in the National Curriculum. The computing curriculum has been carefully designed and sequenced to provide all children with the knowledge and understanding of computing, programming and computing knowledge. We firmly believe that computing can be used a tool to support all areas of learning. We aim for all children to develop their understanding of using technology appropriately in order to ensure healthy use of technology and develop an understanding of how to keep themselves safe online. We want all children to not to be discerning consumers of online information but to have the skills to be critical of the online world.
